Dalia Kandiyoti researches and teaches comparative diaspora studies, American Studies, and world literature.  Her research has focused on in Latina/o/x literature, global Sephardi Studies, and comparative studies of migration in the Americas.

Professor Kandiyoti has a forthcoming book entitled The Converso's Return: Conversion and Sephardi History in Contemporary Literature (Stanford University Press, 2020). She has also published a book on diaspora literatures, identities, and theories entitled Migrant Sites: America, Place, and Diaspora Literatures (University Press of New England) and articles on Latinx literature, recent Sephardi memoirs and fiction, transamerican writing, transnational identities and gender, place in Holocaust writing, and alterity in French literature in journals such as Latino Studies, Comparative American Studies, Contemporary Literature, Genders, MELUS, Modern Fiction Studies, and Studies in Jewish American Literature, and as well as in edited volumes.
