Lauren Bochicchio

Assistant Professor

Dr. Lauren Bochicchio is an Assistant Professor at the College of Staten Island., City University of New York. Lauren received her PhD in Social Work from Columbia University School of Social Work where she previously received her MSW.  Lauren also completed her postdoctoral training at Columbia University School of Nursing. As a researcher and clinician, she is dedicated to identifying, examining, and remediating health disparities in underserved and marginalized communities, with a specific focus on supporting the health and well-being of sexual minority women (SMW). Her research interests broadly include implementation science, post-traumatic stress disorder, hazardous drinking, and understanding the minority stress experiences of individuals who identify as SMW. She has expertise in qualitative research methods (e.g., thematic analysis, grounded theory) in addition to quantitative methods and systematic literature reviews. In her clinical practice, Lauren provides both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to individuals presenting with symptoms of emotional dysregulation.
