Neophytos (Neo) Antoniades

Professor, Chairman

Dr. Antoniades is now a Professor and Chair of the Engineering & Environmental Science (EES) Department at The College of Staten Island, The City University of New York where he joined in September of 2003. From  2014 to 2018, Prof. Antoniades served as the Chair of the Department of Engineering Science and Physics and since 2018 he is the Chair of the EES department. During this time the above organizations went through tremendous student enrollment growths, establishment of new undergraduate and graduate programs, successful ABET accreditation visits and increased external research funding.   His current research interests include access and metro fiber optic communication systems with a strong research focus on the use of fiber optic technologies for system implementations in avionics platforms. During his academic career Prof. Antoniades has been funded by many major public and private funding sources and has published extensively in many leading journals and conferences in his field. Prof. Antoniades is a senior member of the IEEE and a member of the Photonics society and has been a technical committee member of various conferences and workshops in the telecommunications field.
