International Student Services Overview
International Student Services (ISS) supports currently enrolled F-1 students at the College of Staten Island. Our Designated School Officials advise on visa status, employment authorization, travel, and the federal reporting requirements that come with maintaining F-1 status throughout your program. This page is your starting point for the most common requests we handle each semester.
What can I do at the ISS as an F-1 student?
- Travel internationally and re-enter the U.S.
- Apply for work authorization (CPT, OPT, STEM OPT)
- Drop a class or change your course load
- Get a Social Security Number for on-campus work
- Extend or update your I-20
- Confirm your schedule meets online-course rules
- Add or update F-2 dependents
- Transfer your SEVIS record to or from CSI
