I am an educator with broad experience in the chemical and biochemical sciences. I am interested in peptides, their biology and biochemistry and their role in cell-cell communication. Our laboratory studies the interactions of peptides with membranes and membrane receptors and has published extensively on peptide transport systems, G- protein coupled receptors, isoprenylated peptides and peptides containing tyrosine sulfate. We use peptide surrogates to study complex intermolecular interactions between chemokines and receptors and between gp120 of HIV-1 with receptors.
