Institutional Effectiveness

Institutional effectiveness at the College of Staten Island consists of a set of ongoing and systematic, institutional processes and practices that include:

  • Planning
  • Evaluating college programs and services, including administration and student services)
  • Identifying and measuring outcomes across all institutional units, including learning and program outcomes in instructional programs),
  • Using data and assessment results to inform decision-making (culture of evidence)

All of these activities are accomplished with the purpose of improving programs and services and increasing student success and institutional quality.

The Office of Institutional Research (OIR), reports to the Associate Provost for Institutional Effectiveness within the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost.
