Message From The Dean

Message from the Dean:

susan holakBusiness is synonymous with dynamic environmental forces, technological innovation, internationalization of markets, and changes in consumer decision-making.  To succeed amidst complex and demanding market forces, business leaders must possess a wide range of knowledge and skills, an understanding of business disciplines, cultural awareness, and the ability to adapt to change.

The Lucille and Jay Chazanoff School of Business at the College of Staten Island prepares and shapes business leaders for the New York metropolitan region and beyond. Built on a legacy of teaching, scholarship, and professional engagement the School of Business offers strong programs that combine business discipline skills, exposure to the latest technology, and the breadth of the liberal arts and sciences through its comprehensive curricula.

Both undergraduate and graduate students are taught by expert full-time and professional faculty, with a low student-faculty ratio, and have access to unique experiential learning and leadership opportunities through student organizations, co-curricular activities, independent research, community engagement in New York City, and the annual Undergraduate Conference on Research, Scholarship, and Performance when students showcase their work.

Students in the Chazanoff School have an ever-expanding choice of study-abroad opportunities and international exchanges facilitated by our full-service Center for International Service. The School also makes use of CUNY’s Interdisciplinary High Performance Computer Center and offers opportunities in business analytics through coursework and independent research.

As Founding Dean, I am proud to be building new traditions alongside my expert faculty colleagues, working with our engaged and growing alumni base, and interacting with our dedicated, inspiring students.

This is an exciting time to be a student in the School of Business at the College of Staten Island.  I look forward to meeting you.

Best wishes,

Susan L. Holak, PhD
