CSTEP Scholarship Opportunities
Kaplan - Full Scholarships for Test Preparation:
Active CSTEP students receive full scholarships for standardized test preparation, including graduate programs (GRE®, GMAT®, LSAT®, MCAT®, DAT®, OAT®, and PCAT®), professional licensing (Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE), Registered Nursing Licensure (NCLEX-RN)), career certifications (Financial Para-planner Qualified Professional (FPQP), Amazon Web Services (AWS) Certifications, CISCO Certifications) and many more. This program is an investment in your future and is designed to help remove barriers so you can reach your full potential. For more information, students must contact the CSTEP office.
CSTEP Summer Intensives - Stipends for Summer Programs:
Participants in CSTEP’s Freshmen Summer Intensive are eligible to receive a stipend upon successful completion of the three-week program. The 3-week CSTEP Summer Intensive is designed to prepare incoming freshmen for their first year as CSTEP Scholars. Scholars met administrators, took classes in Mathematics, Biology, and Research Methods.

General CSI Scholarships: CSTEP Scholars can also apply for broader institutional scholarships through the College of Staten Island, which are awarded based on academic merit, financial need, community service, and other achievements. Scholarship amounts and eligibility criteria vary, and applications are reviewed by a faculty committee.
Study Abroad Scholarships: CSI offers awards for study abroad participation, with scholarships available for semester, summer, and winter programs—the maximum award typically up to $5,000.

CSTEP National Recognition
- CSTEP is a nationally recognized program that has made New York State a leader in preparing talented students for careers in STEM and licensed fields.
- CSTEP was the 2006 recipient of the National Science Foundation Presidential Medal of Excellence for Science, Mathematics, and Engineering Mentoring.
- The CSTEP program has been replicated in several states, including Texas and New Jersey.
- CSTEP students have received recognition for their scholarly research and presentations, and among our graduates are Rhodes Scholars and recipients of many other prestigious awards.
- For the period 1986 to 2007, 700 CSTEP students participated in research internships in national research facilities such as BNL-Brookhaven National Laboratory.
