Class of 2021

The College of Staten Island's Commencement will launch on Thursday, May 27, 2021, at 9:30 a.m. and will be available on the College website for replay.

Virtual Commencement for the Class of 2021

We are working with Marching Order to host a virtual program. The program will include a message from the President of the College of Staten Island, greetings from special guests, several speakers, including your valedictorian and salutatorian, and conclude with the candidates' presentation. Candidates for graduation will be able to upload a photo of themselves along with a quote or note of thanks to family and friends (your message cannot exceed 150 characters.) Photos/quotes must be appropriate for the significance of this important occasion.  In addition, you will be able to phonetically spell your name or record it so that the name reader appropriately pronounces it when your slide is shown.

Social Media for Graduation Season

  • Grads: Enjoy CUNY’s graduation cap Instagram AR filter, with custom colors for each campus. You can find it on @cunyedu’s profile under the filters section (the stars ✨). Tap the screen to cycle between the school logos. Be sure to use the hashtags #CUNY2021 and #CSIGrad2021.
  • CUNY also created GIFs and stickers that students can add to their graduation-based stories on Instagram.  To find these, search GIFs for "CUNY 2021."
