Requesting a Device for Fall 2020 - Chromebook and iPad Loaner Program
A limited number of devices are available to CSI students on loan, one semester at a time.  Students who are enrolled for the Fall 2020 semester may submit a device request.  To fill out a Device Loan Request Form, click here. The submission of the request does not guarantee the device or the preferred device type. If eligible, the device will be sent to the mailing address provided in the request. If you are having trouble accessing the form, contact the Office of Student Success by email: studentsuccess@csi.cuny.edu. In the subject line of the email, please include Device Request.  More Information on Device Distribution.

Returning a Loaned Device
If you were loaned a device from the College for the Spring/Summer 2020 semester and are not currently registered for the Fall 2020 semester, the device loaned to you must be returned to the College immediately.
Please follow the instructions below to return your device to the College:

  • If you are returning an iPad, you must turn off and disable the passcode. To do this, open the settings app on the iPad. Go to “touch ID & passcode.” Authenticate by entering the passcode for the iPad. Choose “turn passcode off.” Confirm that you want to turn off and disable the passcode.
  • If you have the original shipping packaging and it is useable, carefully package the device and seal the box using packaging tape.
  • You do not have to pay for returning the device that was loaned to you. To request a shipping label, click here. Once prepared, the shipping label will be sent to the email address provided in the request.
  • Print the shipping label and attach it to the package.
  • Bring the package to a UPS store or an authorized UPS return service location.

If you are returning to CSI but no longer need the device, please follow the instructions above to return your device to the College.
We hope the device we loaned to you was helpful in completing your classes, and returning your device now will allow us to provide other students who need a device to continue their studies at CSI during the Fall 2020 semester.

Mobile Hotspot Devices

A limited number of T-Mobile T-9 Franklin Mobile Hotspots are available to CSI students on loan, one semester at a time. The device provides access to LTE network for fast uploads and downloads.  For more information on the T-Mobile T-9 Franklin Mobile Hotspot please visit the CUNY website.  If you are a full-time student enrolled in the Fall 2020 semester and in need of a mobile hotspot device, please contact the Office of Student Success by email: studentsuccess@csi.cuny.edu.  In the subject of the email please indicate Mobile Hotspot Device.
