Thank you for your interest in the Medical Laboratory Science Program (MLS) at the College of Staten Island. The Medical Laboratory Science Program has been in existence for nearly four decades. Our four-year B.S. in Medical Laboratory Science (BS-MLS) program is accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) and registered with the New York State Education Department (NYSED) as a licensure-qualifying program. Upon graduation, students are eligible to sit for the MLS(ASCP) certification examination and are eligible for New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist (CLT) licensure.
We are now pleased to offer two pathways for students interested in pursuing a career in Medical Laboratory Science: our traditional B.S. in Medical Laboratory Science and our newly approved Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Medical Laboratory Science. The Certificate provides a pathway for qualified students who have already earned a bachelor’s degree in a natural science.
