The discipline of Medical Laboratory Science is a field within the healthcare industry. Medical Laboratory Scientists carry out diagnostic testing in the areas of immunology/serology, hematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, blood banking, and molecular diagnostics. This field is in a stage of rapid growth with scientists needed in hospital laboratories, biotechnology companies, biomedical research, forensic and law enforcement laboratories and pharmaceutical or chemical industries.
