Your 6-Step Application Checklist
You must apply as a transfer student if you have attended any college, university, or proprietary school since graduating from high school or secondary school - this applies whether or not you're seeking transfer credit or changing your program of study.

Submit Your Application
Apply through the CUNY Application page and pay the application fee. This is the same application used for all CUNY transfer applicants.

Submit Your Secondary School Documents
Please submit the appropriate documents according to where you studied:
- Photocopies of secondary school transcripts or marksheets
- Official transcripts from a U.S. high school, if you attended one
- Photocopy of your secondary school diploma, or external exam certificates (CXC, GCSE, GCE, WASSCE, etc.). If you have taken WASSCE exams, please also include the information from your scratch card.

Request Your Post-Secondary (College/University) Documents
We need official records from every college, university, or proprietary school you've attended - in the U.S. or abroad.
- Official transcripts from U.S. colleges, universities, or proprietary schools attended
- Official post-secondary/university records from all institutions attended overseas
- Photocopies of diplomas and certificates
Official transcripts can be mailed or emailed directly to CSI by the records office at each college or university you have attended.
Translate Non-English Documents
If any of your transcripts, diplomas, or certificates are not in English, they must be submitted with a certified English translation.
CUNY’s University Application Processing Center (UAPC)
CUNY’s University Application Processing Center can evaluate your transcripts free of charge. UAPC does not evaluate until all required documents have been submitted.
Applicants educated outside of the United States may choose to have their record evaluated by one of the approved evaluation services listed below.

If using one of these services, request an official course-by-course evaluation report that includes a GPA, plus certified copies of all documents used for the evaluation.
Documents to request from the Evaluation Service:
Completed less than one year of University Work:
- Secondary school record: an official course-by-course evaluation report which includes a grade point average (GPA) based on all secondary school course work and any external examination certificates earned.
- University record: an official course-by-course evaluation report which includes a GPA based on all University course work.
Completed more than one year of University Work:
- Secondary school record: proof of secondary school graduation and an official course-by-course evaluation report.
- University record: an official course-by-course evaluation report which includes a GPA based on all University course work.
Important:
- Evaluation reports must be complete (not preliminary) and prepared based on official or verified/authenticated documents.
- Evaluation reports must be sent to us directly from the evaluation service.
- Evaluation reports must include certified copies of all the documents used for the evaluation.
Prove English Language Proficiency
If you were educated in a non-English speaking environment, you'll need to submit one of the following test scores. Our institutional code for score reporting is 2778.

Submit Everything to CSI
- Email copies of your high school documents to international@csi.cuny.edu
- Request for an official transcript or a course-by-course evaluation to be emailed to our office.
Your application cannot be completed without these documents - submit them as soon as they're ready, don't wait until the deadline.
