Being a part of our new on-campus residential community is more than just having a place to sleep each night. Your roommate(s) and neighbors could become lifelong friends. As you interact with other CSI students you will have the opportunity to learn about people who are different than you and, in the process, learn more about yourself. In addition, living on-campus will help you be a better student, since you will have easy access to important campus resources, such as academic advisors, tutorial centers and labs, the writing center and the library.
How will we help you achieve all this? The staff at Dolphin Cove is here to help create a strong student community. Throughout the year, we'll host frequent events, such as social gatherings and guest speakers and other programs and activities all, designed to help you make friends and excel at CSI. Our Resident Assistants (RAs) are student leaders who are specially trained to help make your time at Dolphin Cove a rich and rewarding experience.
Applications are available in our office in Dolphin Cove, South Building or you can apply online.
College of Staten Island Residency Policy (Housing)
All enrolled full time students attending the College of Staten Island or any CUNY institution, who are in good standing, are eligible to live in CSI Student Housing on a first come, first served basis.
However, the College of Staten Island Residency Policy requires all full time first-year (freshmen only) students who meet certain criteria to reside on campus. This residency requirement applies to:
- first-year New York State resident students, except those residing in the five boroughs of New York City
- first-year out-of-state students, except those students residing in the New Jersey bordering counties of Essex, Hudson, Union and Middlesex
- first-year international students
Under the "opt-out" policy clause, eligible incoming students as defined in the Residency Requirement Policy can request an “opt out” form, and upon approval from the College will receive an exemption from the first year residency requirement. Opt-out Request Forms are available for completion upon request. All requests for exemption will be reviewed on an individual basis.
