Evening and Weekend Services

Evening Services

CSI in the evenings has a distinct learning tempo as adult students arrive for their classes.  The evening class schedule each Monday through Friday (Fall and Spring semesters) has classes that begin at hours convenient to working adults.  Many of the classes meet one evening per week for the required credit hours, for example from 6:30 to 9:15 or to 10:00 PM. Others convene twice weekly from, for example, 6:30 to 8:10 PM or 8:20 to 10:00 PM.

College services available each weeknight include the Library, the computer laboratories, the main cafeteria, and the sports and recreation center with swimming pool.  Selected nighttime hours are available during the week for the offices of Bursar, Registrar, Testing, the Children's Center, and Student Financial Assistance.

Courses offered enable adult learners to complete two-year associate degrees in:

  • Liberal Arts
  • Business
  • Computer Technology
  • Engineering Science

Bachelor's degree programs in such areas as:

  • Business
  • Engineering Science
  • English
  • History
  • Political Science
  • Psychology
  • Science, Letters and Society (required for Early Childhood or Childhood/Elementary Education)
  • Sociology/Anthropology

  • Environmental Science
  • Liberal Studies
  • The College also offers a Leadership in Education Post Master's Advanced Certificate (School Building Leader and School District Leader)

Weekend Services

The weekend class schedule provides degree courses on Friday evenings, Saturday mornings and afternoons and on Sunday afternoons for the Fall and Spring semesters.  These classes meet once per week; so, for example, a student may take classes on Saturday (one starting at 9AM and the other at 12:45 PM), combining these with a Friday evening course and one on Sunday afternoon.

This weekend schedule (i. e. from one to four courses) eases the burden of weekday/workweek rush to campus after a lengthy work day and enables adult students to increase a particular semester's credit load to hasten degree completion. Support services including the Library, the computer laboratories, the sports and recreation center, and the main cafeteria provide hours of access on weekends.
