CUNY VOTES is a comprehensive, nonpartisan initiative whose mission is to promote student voter registration, participation, and awareness through campus-based activities, external partnerships, and University-wide campaigns.

2025 will be another important election year for New York City. New Yorkers will elect candidates for Citywide offices, including: mayor, public advocate, and comptroller. All 51 seats in the New York City Council are up for election, as are all five borough president positions.

Key Voting & Election Dates 

• Friday, February 14th - Last day to change party enrollment prior to political primaries.
• Staten Island Special Election:
  • Early Voting is April 21- 2025 - April, 27, 2025
  • Election day is Tuesday, April 29, 2025. Polls are open from 6:00 AM - 9:00 PM.
• Monday, June 9th - Last day to change your address before the June Primary
• Saturday, June 14th - Sunday June 22nd - Early voting for the political primaries.
• Saturday, June 14th : Voter Registration deadline for the primary, and the last day prior to Primary Day that the Board of Elections can receive Applications for an absentee ballot.  
• Tuesday, June 24th - Primary Day
• Saturday, October 25th - Sunday, November 2nd - Early Voting for General Election.
• Tuesday November 4th - Election Day 

You can now register to vote online through the DMV with a State-issued ID and apply for an absentee ballot online.
