CUNY VOTES is a comprehensive, nonpartisan initiative with a mission to promote student voter registration, participation, and awareness through campus-based activities, external partnerships, and University-wide campaigns.

2025 will be another critical election year for New York City. New Yorkers will elect candidates for Citywide offices, including: mayor, public advocate, and comptroller. All 51 seats in the New York City Council are up for election, as are all five borough president positions.

Key Election Dates for November 4, 2025, General Election

  • The last day to apply online or by mail is October 25, 2025.
  • Last Day to apply in person at your county board of elections is November 3, 2025.
  • Put your ballot in the mail, ensuring it receives a postmark no later than November 4, 2025.
  • Drop off your ballot at your county Board of Elections Office no later than November 4, 2025 by 9pm.
  • Drop off your ballot at an early voting poll site in your county between October 25 and November 2, 2025.
  • Drop off your ballot at an election day poll site on November 4, 2025, no later than 9pm.

You can now register to vote online through the DMV with a State-issued ID and apply for an absentee ballot online.
