VMWARE
This environment runs many of the key systems on campus including email, student printing, campus wide computer login authentication, self-service password reset, shared folders, network and server monitoring utilities, and application servers. Out of warranty/end-of-life equipment (servers and storage arrays) were replaced.

Internet of Things (IOT)
Several IOT initiatives were completed including system status updates, computer availability, and shuttle bus tracking.

Procurement Workflow
IT worked with Procurement and developed a cohesive process and procurement workflow, in order to better manage required forms and comply with CUNY regulations. As part of this process, complex workflows were developed and communication strategies were followed to complete the purchase request. This project also included extensive training to all academic and administrative areas.

Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR)
OITS, working with Administrative departments throughout the campus, recently completed their participation in the CUNY IT BCDR pilot program.  An inventory of systems in use was undertaken, as well as numerous interviews conducted by NYSTEC to complete a Business Impact Analyses on all critical Administrative functions that will be included in the initial BC/DR planning.

Digital Signage
Additional BrightSign digital signage players are being installed around the campus while we continue to work with our vendors to develop a unified digital signage system that is centrally managed and maintained.  We continue to explore additional timely and informative digital content for the players that are beneficial to our campus community

Double –Telepresence Robot
OITS has been working with several departments around campus to use Danny Double. The Double assisted students, staff, and faculty who could not physically be present in class, meetings, and presentations by allowing them to participate in these events by connecting through the robot.

Training
Training has gone virtual as the Technology Training Team continues to introduce more online learning opportunities via Blackboard Collaborate.  Each month features a different program or set of topics that are reviewed in 15-20 minute online sessions.  Traditional training in computer labs and the technology training center are conducted monthly.   Sessions are one-on-one, small groups, departmental or campus wide.
