New Student Orientation (NSO) – For Incoming Students

Virtual New Student Orientation (vNSO) and CLASS 100 (CSI’s Lessons and Advisement in Student Success) are pre-semester mandatory orientation programs for all incoming students with less than 6 transfer credits from another institution. These programs are designed to help new students to become familiar with the CSI campus, CSI’s academic programs, and what to expect as a new student at CSI. In addition, vNSO and CLASS 100 provide new students with information regarding the many services and resources available to them. Moreover, it is also an opportunity for new students to meet other incoming students, faculty, staff, and upperclassmen New Student Mentors as students are introduced to college life at CSI. The overall goal of vNSO and CLASS 100 is to provide students with a sense of belonging and connection to the campus community, develop partnerships, and ease students’ transition to CSI.

Please feel free to contact the New Student Programs Unit at or 718.982.2529 for more information regarding virtual vNSO and CLASS 100.
