Group Fitness Activities

Have you always wanted to start an exercise program but haven't known where to start? Well the Sports and Recreation Center offers plenty of opportunities to get started through its Group Fitness Program.

A variety of classes are offered during the day, evening and weekends. This includes aerobic classes (Step, Hi Low, Aqua, Double Step, Kickboxing), mind/body classes (Yoga, Tai Chi, Dahnhak), strength conditioning classes (Body Sculpt, Abdominals, Body Resistaball Bar), combination classes (Step and Tone, Easy Stretch, and Aerobics) and specialty classes (Salsa, Boot Camp). In addition, from time to time, master classes and workshops are offered as well (Women's Self Defense, How to Use the Weight Room, etc).

CSI Recreational Activities

The College of Staten Island Sports and Recreation Center offers a multitude of facilities and programs to students, faculty, staff and community members.

Amenities include a 25 meter, 8 lane swimming pool; a 14,400 square foot main basketball/volleyball arena; 8,640 square foot auxiliary gymnasium; two fully equipped fitness centers including over 3,000 pounds of free weights and seven cardiovascular machines including treadmills, stationary bikes and stair machines; five indoor racquetball courts; a quarter mile outdoor track; two soccer fields (grass and FieldTurf); outdoor basketball and handball courts; one intercollegiate (FieldTurf) and three intramural softball fields; a 2,500 seat baseball stadium.
