Bachelor’s and Master’s Programs in Social Work (BSSW and MSW)

Graduates of the Social Work program are conferred the BSSW, which prepares them for entry-level work with diverse populations of people in a variety of meaningful fields, including child welfare, mental health, family services, criminal justice, housing, disability services, services for older adults, urban development, community organizing, and health and medical care.The College of Staten Island’s MSW program has an area of specialization in social work practice with people with disabilities (intellectual, physical, sensory, psychiatric, chronic health age-related, substance use, and other impairments) with a focus on either clinical practice or macro practice.
